Yale economist Robert Shiller spoke on Saturday at the Austrian National Bank to an audience of 200 about his latest book Animal Spirits. Ambassador William C. Eacho, III opened the Embassy-co-hosted event. Centrist daily Die Presse published a full-page interview with Mr. Shiller as its “Topic of the Day” in the weekend edition, and Austrian National TV aired a report on Monday’s primetime news.

The renowned film director was honored at 12:00 noon on November 1, 2009. Zinnemann’s son Tim, City of Vienna representative Dr. Elisabeth Vitouch, and Public Affairs Officer Robert Hugins jointly unveiled the commemorative plaque decorating the house where Zinnemann grew up. (Weyrgasse 9, 3rd district of Vienna) Austrian television and various print media reported on the event.
